Why the grain stayed

A short defence of the noisiest layer in every photo I publish here.

There’s a clean-image instinct that gets baked into anyone who shoots digital after 2015. Sensors get bigger, denoise gets smarter, the math wins.

The grain stays because these photographs aren’t catalogue images. They’re notes. A note from a 35mm frame at ISO 1600 has texture; a note from a 60-megapixel sensor with full denoise has none. I want the texture.
